Breaking contemporary electronic and electromechanic locks - an introduction.
Abstract
Abstract: Mechanical door and safe locks are increasingly replaced by
electromechanic and purely electronic systems. Besides breaking RFID
and Biometrics (which is not a subject of this talk), there is a
surprisingly rich number of ways to bypass and circumvent these locks.
The talk will discuss the principal design flaws and weaknesses, using
popular locks as concrete example and give an introduction to the
digital lockpickers choice of tools and methods. A brief excursion
into the release policy problems of the lock industry is provided as
well.
