Bio: DJ Rev Moon of THC has over 20 years experience in IT security. He currently leads the consultancy practice of a security services provider. As a lecturer at a Dutch University he teaches internet security and he has authored several tools including 'amap'. DJ Rev Moon also likes to DJ and hack electronic dance music. Abstract: In many cases, when performing network security assessments or other reconessaince on large scale infrastructures, it can be extremely useful to get to know the network topology. Until now, not much public research has been performed in the field of network discovery technologies. In this talk, DJ Rev Moon wil provide a few original techniques, some practical and some theoretical, that can be used to generate insight into the topology of a target network. Finding Internet connections, mapping routes to third party networks and locating tunnels will be discussed. Practical techniques for assessing identified connections will also be presented.
